Summer Kalahiki is an artist based in California. She was born and raised in Hawaii and received her bachelors of science in interior design from the University of Texas in Arlighton. Her work merges techniques of traditional architectural hand drafting with fluid painterly strokes of color and movement. The juxtaposion of these techniques portrays the duality of structure versus free flow and reveals the tension created when these worlds collide. Summer’s work expresses all the facets of who she is and where she comes from while conceptualizing the human condition.
